Is the company you are using for this service legally allowed to be providing this service?
Anyone carrying out Document Destruction as a service must have a MOJ background check carried out and must be licensed to do this work. Given that the information is of a confidential nature nobody wants to run the risk of information falling into the wrong hands, but have you done your homework on who you've handed your paperwork to?
Hills Cleaning are your local PSPLA (Private Security Personnel Licensing Authority) Licensed and Approved Confidential Document Destruction Agent Number 11-026954. We provide a local, confidential, certified service to clients who need any quantity of confidential paperwork to be destroyed prior to being disposed of. Papers are securely stored and then destroyed by spaghetti shredding on site in Nelson, shredding is carried out by approved Hills Cleaning employees under supervision.
What happens to the shredding?*
We offer two options for the disposal of shredded papers:
1. Recycling - We supply local potters, glass blowers, undertakers, hedgehog rescuers and more trustworthy locals with the shredded material for packaging and various other uses.
2. Dumping - Shredding is removed by Hills Cleaning staff to the Transfer Station and is emptied into the compactor for disposal.
*There is no difference in cost to you for either option and at times we are unable to recycle all the shredded material due to low demand, in this situation, option 2 only is available.
Should you require us to provide you with Archive boxes on a rotational basis we are able to do so. Fill the boxes, call (03) 548 4186 to either arrange a pick up or drop them to our depot during office hours.
How Much Does it Cost?
Paper clips, hard covers, bindings, plastic, metal binders, folders, etc need to be removed for us to shred documents. You can either do this yourself prior to handing over to us or we can sort and do it for you, this work is charged at an hourly rate and includes disposal of all extra refuse.
The average cost:
* Archive box of paper without anything we cannot shred removed is from $28.00 + GST per box ( Approx 7 reams of paper )
* Photo copy box of paper without anything we cannot shred removed is from $22.00 + GST per box ( 5 reams of paper )
* File box of paper without anything we cannot shred removed is from $9.00 + GST per box
1 Archive box of papers creates approximately 1 cubic meter of waste.
After your documents are destroyed we'll send out an invoice and certificate to say we have destroyed papers for you, no details as to the quantity or what we have processed are on the certificate. Invoices are due for payment as per our term of trade and may be paid by cheque or direct credit. We reserve the right to charge collection fees on overdue accounts. Sorry but we don't have eftpos or credit card payment facilities.
Do We Have Wheelie Bins?
Unfortunately not; many buildings have upstairs offices without lifts and moving full bins of paper poses a risk of injury as the bins are very heavy when filled and cannot be safely moved, brought downstairs or loaded to our vehicles. We are happy to bring boxes to you and empty your bin on site and charge as per above.
Most of our clients prefer to either fill their photocopy paper boxes or have an archive box under their desks to fill. This also means locating the paperwork you are looking for is close at hand if required. Using boxes als helps lunch wrappers, disposable coffee cups, food remains not end up in with papers to be shred, unlike what gets added to a locked wheelie bin!
We are happy to discuss other options that may work for your specific situation.
